Country Artist and RAD51D Gene Mutation Carrier Morgan Wade Morgan Wade is currently one of Nashville’s fastest rising and most critically acclaimed young stars, hailed by some of the world’s most respected publications, from Rolling Stone to New York Times, as a once-in-a-generation talent, thanks in great effect to Reckless, her stunning 2021 Thirty Tigers/now Sony Music Nashville debut album. In 2022, Morgan received news from her doctor that a recent test she’d taken came back positive for a rare gene mutation (RAD51D) that puts her at a higher risk of breast cancer. When she learned this devastating news, and knowing breast cancer runs in her family, she knew she not only wanted to take preventative measures to lessen her risk for a breast cancer diagnosis but also to use her platform to raise awareness of Mission Plasticos, an organization that had been a great resource to her during this process. In November of 2023, Morgan underwent a preventative double Mastectomy by Dr. Heather MacDonald and breast reconstruction by Dr. Karen Leong, both long time surgeons who volunteer with Mission Plasticos. Her partnership has helped raise awareness for not only preventative testing for the breast cancer gene, but also shed a light on the thousands of low-income women who are unable to gain access to breast reconstruction post mastectomy here in the US. Alongside Mission Plasticos, she has become a champion for women to ensure they are given access to the quality healthcare they deserve regardless of their socioeconomic status. We are so excited to hear her share her story!

American Actress, Author, Producer and Philanthropist Kyle Richards

Kyle Richards began her career as a child actress, appearing in a recurring role on Little House on the Prairie and in several adventure and horror films. She went on to become not only an amazing actress, but an author, producer and philanthropist! in 2002, Kyle lost her mother to breast cancer and has focused on using her platform and voice to remind women to get their mammograms, screen, and self-exam every month. "When I think about the fact that my mom did not have a mammogram for five years because she was afraid, it tortures me. So, I don’t want other women to suffer like that or their loved ones to have to suffer too.” In 2022, she learned of Mission Plasticos and quickly jumped in to see how she could use her platform to help raise awareness of our Reshaping Lives Full Circle program. This program provides breast reconstruction to low-income women post mastectomy, along with other procedures like breast symmetry surgery, nipple reconstruction/restoration and nipple tattooing all FREE of CHARGE. We are so grateful for Kyle to have introduced us to Morgan Wade and continues to support Mission Plasticos and our programs over the past two years. We are grateful for Kyle to share her story of loss, perseverance and her persistence in speaking on prevention at the Mission Plasticos Gala!
